ANNOUNCEMENT

The Public Works Department, the Municipality of Yermasoyia and the contracting company Consortium TEKAL SA Makis Savvides & Sons (Contractors Ltd), announces that the construction works of the Yermasoyia Bypass Road continue as normal and on Sunday, August 7, 2022, a section of the new Yermasoyia Bypass Road (Mikis Theodorakis Avenue) from Mylos Street to Isabellas Street with a total length of approximately 1.5Km will be handed over to traffic.

The new section consists of two traffic lanes, new sidewalks, road lighting. Disabled ramps, road equipment, undergrounding of Public Utility Services, five zebra-type pedestrian crossings, one elevated zebra-type pedestrian crossing, a light-controlled Pelican-type pedestrian crossing (by Ko Street), an elevated junction by Psaron/Ayiou Georgiou streets and Mikis Theodorakis Avenue, a roundabout at its junction with Patron Street (east of Agias Paraskevis street) and marking/signaling

On the same day, Sunday, August 7, 2022, construction work of the next phase of the Project, will begin, which will last 6 months and includes, among others, the reconstruction/upgrade of part of the road of Agias Paraskevis Street, 400m long, to the southern part of the Yermasoyia roundabout, the reconstruction of Mylou Street and the construction of a roundabout at the junction of the new Mikis Theodorakis Avenue with Agias Paraskevis and Milos streets.

During the construction of this phase, the following traffic arrangements will apply:

a. The junction of Agias Paraskevis and Mylos streets will be closed. A section of Agias Paraskevis street, south of Tyllirias Street, will temporarily operate as dead-end road and traffic to/from Yermasoyia and from/to Limassol will be conducted through the new bypass road and its connections to Agias Paraskevis street from Isabellas, Patron and Tyllirias streets. Access to Agias Paraskevis street towards Limassol is expected to be delivered to traffic around the end of October 2022.

b. Mylou Street will be closed and its castern part from its junction with Potamias Street will temporarily function as a dead-end road to serve merchants and residents.

c. Traffic from/to Mouttagiaka will be possible through Potamias street (east) or through the new bypass road and Agios Georgios street. (Related Diagram is attached)

The Public Works Department, the Municipality of Yermasoyia and the contracting company Consortium TEKAL SA Makis Savvides & Sons (Contractors Ltd), apologize for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and calls on the public to show the necessary understanding and patience and to comply with the temporary road markings and the instructions of the Police.
