As part of Green Week 2023, which is organized from October 2 to October 8, the Municipality of Germasogeia actively participates in a unique way, promoting cycling and yoga. On October 7, 2023, it offers the residents and visitors of the area an opportunity to enjoy nature, exercise, and get informed about the benefits of sustainable modes of transportation and physical exercise.
The action begins at 9:00 a.m. with an organized cycling ride, which will take place on the coastal front of Limassol, starting and ending at the Dasoudi (KOT) parking area. The route, moving east on the coastal road and through Prophet Elias Street to end at the Hunter's Park, is 8 kilometers long, and there will be a stop for rest and water supply during the ride. A treat will be offered at the end of the cycling.
After the ride, participants will have the opportunity to relax with rejuvenating yoga exercises, under the guidance of the instructor Maria Konstantinou. For participation in the yoga class, interested individuals should have a mat with them for hygiene reasons.
This particular event encourages awareness of renewable energy sources, the promotion of environmentally friendly transportation, healthy living, and community participation. Moreover, it emphasizes the commitment of the Germasogeia Municipality and the organizers towards a greener and more sustainable society. Lastly, it promotes the idea that "Together, we cycle towards a greener future," enhancing community awareness and participation in the global fight for green transition.
