The Municipality of Germasogeia is honored to announce the Open Invitation to all relatives and appreciators of the work of volunteer residents of Germasogeia, who participated with courage and dedication in the First and Second Balkan and World Wars. The event, set to take place on Sunday, 22nd October 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the Cultural Center of the Municipality, aims to honor the memory and work of these individuals.
During the ceremony, a marble plaque erected in honor of these heroes will be unveiled, as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for their sacrifice and dedication to the homeland. The esteemed Ambassador of Greece in Cyprus, Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, will conduct the unveiling.
The program of the event includes a sanctification, greeting from the Mayor of Germasogeia Mr. Kyriakos Xydia, and a speech by the esteemed Ambassador of Greece. The Choir of the Municipality of Germasogeia, under the direction of Mr. Solonas Kladas, will offer musical moments, followed by a small reception for the attendees.
The Municipality of Germasogeia invites all residents and friends of the Municipality to honor this historic and significant event with their presence, celebrating the remarkable contribution of the volunteers of Germasogeia to world history.
